Rashida Muhammad, DrPH, MHS – Co Founder & Board Member– brings over 19 years of experience in addressing the education, health, and social welfare needs of individuals to the CASP team. She has provided program administration and management consulting services for health, education, and social service programs. Her experience includes conducting needs assessments, program evaluation, health education, social research design, data collection, instrument design, training and technical support. Rashida has served as a development officer, program manager, grants manager, and as an administrative service director for non-profit and for-profit organizations. Over the past 10 years, Ms. Muhammad has successfully developed, coordinated, and implemented various education, social service and health intervention activities specific to women and girls, youth, and minorities, locally, nationally and internationally. Native to the USA, Rashida currently lives in the Washington, DC.
Deirdre Parker, RN – Co Founder & Board Member – is a public health educator and personal care aid, and has extensive knowledge of health care issues. Deirdre is a health advocate and a nurse by profession. She brings to the CASP team years of experience with women’s health issues, labor and delivery, psychiatric care, home health care, surgery, and pediatrics. A native to Ireland, Deirdre currently lives in the New York.
George Amenyo – Co Founder & Board Member – is a Social Worker and Health Educator, and is certified in non-profit management. With extensive knowledge of human service and reproductive health issues, George is a humanitarian and health advocate. He brings over 10 years of experience in community development, reproductive health, research, and HIV/AIDS prevention. He has training in reproductive health policy and strategic planning. George is also experienced with human resource management, evaluation and program monitoring. He has also worked with Ghanaian and international health programs. A native to Ghana, George currently lives in Hohoe, Ghana.
Theresa Taylor, MSW, MA – Board Member – Ms. Taylor is a Program Specialist that oversees a nationwide portfolio of social service grants in access of $350 million. Prior to her current role, she was the Assistant Director for Foster Care with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, where she oversaw grants to more than 20 foster care programs across the nation providing care and custody of migrant and refugee children. Theresa has more than 10 years experience in the social service sector including program development, grants management, advocacy and public policy in the international and domestic contexts. Theresa received a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology and holds Master’s Degrees in Social Work and Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany.
Mildred Larnyo – Board Member – is a certified and a registered Senior midwifery Officer with the Ghana Nursing and Midwife Council. As a trained midwife, Mildred began her career in Health Care at the Hohoe Municipal Government Hospital by working at the Anti-Natal Clinic to provide pre and post natal care services. Mildred has a unique combination of strong nursing skills and strives to provide the best family-centered health care possible. She believes in building a long lasting and trusting relationship with her clients. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Mildred’s scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process. Mildred conducts a comprehensive evaluation of every patient by taking time to listen and understand their particular needs. Due to her outstanding professional experience and academic background she is now in charge of the Reproductive & Child Health (RCH) Department – a units of the Family Health Division under Ghana Health Service, and is responsible for coordinating the implementation of reproductive and child health activities. She brings to the CASP’s team a total of 17 years working experience in midwife and community health fairs, and outreach programs. A native to Ghana, Mildred currently lives in Hohoe, Ghana.
Michelle Vernon, BS, ME – Board Member – Michelle is a Social Worker and educator with experience in working with high risk and institutionalized youth. She also has experience as a classroom teacher with advanced training in tutoring children with developmental delays, and curriculum development. Michelle brings to the CASP team experience in addressing health and social choices; drug use and abuse; self esteem and gang activity. She is also adept in the use of evidence-based interventions for use in addressing high-risk behaviors. A native to the USA, Michelle currently lives in Massachusetts.
Roxann Smith, BS – Volunteer Coordinator – received her degree in Public Health with a specialization in pre-nursing. During her colligate years she worked as an event programmer on campus focusing on women’s health and STI education. She has experience in fundraising and coordinating of programs. Over the last couple years she has volunteered for different non-profits focusing on recuperative care for homeless men and women, providing beauty services to individuals who are chronically and terminally ill, reproductive health and creating access to healthcare. A native to the USA., Roxanne currently lives in Los Angeles.
