Can anyone attend the WRFG Freedom Run 5K?
Yes, the WRFG Freedom Run is open to the general public
Can I run or walk with a baby jogger?
Baby joggers are allowed but we ask that you start your race at the back of the pack.
Can I run with my dog?
No, please do not run with your dog on the course and please leave your pets at home.
Can I reserve a shirt in a certain size?
When you check the box next to a t-shirt size on your registration form, you are not reserving a shirt; you are helping us plan how many shirts we need to order in each size. If it is important that you get a shirt in your size, please come early.
Can I get a refund if I register but don't run?
No. we plan the race based on the number of registered runners, so once you have registered we cannot offer you a refund. If, however, you register and do not run, you may still pick up your race packet and shirt and join us in the fun.
Can I run with headphones or ear buds?
For safety reasons, we discourage the use of headphones on the course.
What happens in inclement weather?
Good question! The WRFG Freedom Run 5K will take place come rain or shine!
What distance is this race?
The WRFG Freedom Run 5K is, umm…, a 5K (3.2 mile) distance. The course is will be USATF certified for accuracy.
Are walkers allowed?
YES! Walkers are very welcomed to our event. All we ask is that you obey the rules of the course and walk no more than two people abreast so that others may pass easily. Walkers will start at the same time as runners but are advised, for safety reasons, to start their race at the back of the pack. Walker times are recorded using the same B-tag sensor as runners.
Will there be bag-check facility?
There is no bag check. Please plan accordingly.
Where is the water stop?
One stop at approximately Mile 1.78, will be located on the Freedom Trail right before the race exits to N.Highland Ave.
Where is the start and how do I get there?
The race starts and finishes at the WRFG radio station located in the little five points community center located at 1083 Austin Drive in Atlanta, Georgia. You can find directions here.
What are the parking accommodations?
First, we urge you to consider marta (Inman Park-Reynoldstown station) or car-pooling. There will be very limited street parking in the vicinity of the race and within short walking distance.
Can I take a shower after the race?
Yes, but it will have to be at home as there are no facilities available at the race! Will there be an after-race celebration?
Oh, yeah! Runners can purchase and enjoy a variety of delicious food and drink items from local food trucks that will be parked at the end of the race!
Can I view the course before the race?
We prefer that you arrive early and walk or jog the course. Most of the race course is accessible before the race begins. A course map is available here.
Where are the best locations for spectators?
The entire course is spectator-friendly but the best spots would be along Moreland Ave, Edgewood Ave, and Euclid Ave. You can also post up on Freedom Trail if you’d like. PLEASE NOTE the course will be CLOSED TO TRAFFIC please do not attempt to drive on the course during the race. Course map here.
Will the race be timed?
No, the race will not be timed this year, though there will be a prize for the top men and women finisher, as well as they will be invited to a complimentary brunch with our board members and sponsors.
